Good thoughts, Joe. Wikipedia raised 7.5 million in their latest fundraiser, so I think people are in fact willing to pay for good services on the Net via contribution model. Thanks for writing!

Hi David,

How about a model where the service is free to individual users and even small groups up to 50 users with an option to support the site if they like the service. I'm sure a group who use the site regularly and find that the service really enriches their prayer life would contribute much more then $25 a year.

I've found that with so many alternatives for any service on the net these days it's really difficult to charge for services and especially new ones that are still in beta. I believe that a model that the micro finance site kiva uses is they ask the giver to cover the costs for the transaction when they donate, say an optional 10% for a $100 donation. I heard some users often end up giving much more then that since it's optional.

I could see however, charging for any customizations and/or branding of the site for a specific organization.

Would love to see a demo or an alpha release if it's out there. You know how to reach me.
